Australian GP This Weekend Begins 2015 Formula 1 Season on TSN & RDS

The 2015 Formula 1 kicks off this weekend and TSN continues to have coverage of every practice, qualifying and race this season. As usual, they will take the feed from UK broadcasters BBC or Sky Sports. Disappointedly, as usual, TSN will provide no additional coverage for the Canadian Grand Prix this season as heaven forbid they should care about a sport despite it not having a Canadian in it. NBC will have four races on their regular channel during the season.

RDS, as usual, will have full coverage of the Canadian GP and broadcast every qualifying session and race of the season on their main channel.

Below is the full schedule for the season. All times are Eastern and times/channels subject to change.

  1. TSN has made 2 mistakes is their schedule:
    – U.S. Grand Prix at 2:55pm ET
    – Mexican Grand Prix at 1:55pm ET

Also, the Brazilian Grand Prix will not be on NBC. 4 races, like last year, will be on the main network.

    • Thanks. The NBC schedule on their site lists them as having the Brazilian GP on their main channel but I just found the press release that specifies it is just the four.

  2. TSN’s F1 coverage is downright awful. I will watch them for practice but will go with RDS or NBC (when available) for the qualifying and race coverage. Using commentary from a commercial-free broadcast while inserting commercials simply does not work as you miss key things being said when something of note happens and then get no explanation/recap upon return from commercial. Not to mention it is simply sloppy and unprofessional to constantly cut off the announcers and rejoin them often in mid-sentence. Then there’s the fact that TSN can’t be bothered with a pre-race show to set up the upcoming grand prix so there’s absolutely no build up or analysis of the weekend’s storylines heading into the race. I could go on but TSN obviously does not seem to give a crap about F1 so they simply won’t get my viewership when I don’t have to watch them. Too bad they recently signed an extention with FOM as I would’ve liked to have seen Sportsnet get a crack at F1.

  3. i wish TSN would show the BBC and sky pre and post race shows

  4. TSN’s F1 coverage is dreadful. There’s a large fan base for this sport in Canada and TSN is ignoring us. I’ve had it with them so I started doing something new last season. Didn’t watch TSN’s coverage. Instead I’d live stream online SKY’s pre-show, the race, and the post-show. Sacrificing video quality/screen size for MUCH better coverage was fine with me. I wish it was a choice I wouldn’t have to make.

What do you think?
