Thursday Night Football is now done for the season (more on that later this week) and there is no Monday game this week because Monday is Christmas Eve. However, there is a Saturday night game and plenty important matchups on Sunday afternoon. TSN also has a game on Sunday afternoon, instead of TSN2.

8:30pm, Atlanta Falcons (12-2) @ Detroit Lions (4-10)
TSN, RDS
Sunday December 23
1:00pm, Cincinnati Bengals (8-6) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7)
TSN, RDS
1:00pm, New Orleans Saints (6-8) @ Dallas Cowboys (8-6)
CTV Ontario, Alberta, BC
1:00pm, Minnesota Vikings (8-6) @ Houston Texas (12-2)
CTV Winnipeg, Saskatchewan
1:00pm, New England Patriots (10-4) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12)
CTV Atlantic, Montreal
4:05pm, Cleveland Browns (5-9) @ Denver Broncos (11-3)
SN Ontario, West, Pacific
4:25pm, New York Giants (8-6) @ Baltimore Ravens (9-5)
Citytv; SN East; RDS
8:30pm, San Francisco 49ers (10-3-1) @ Seattle Seahawks (9-5)
TSN, RDS
My one complaint would be the Redskins vs Philadelphia game not being shown @ 1:00.
Have you considered emailing the Fox station in Watertown asking them to switch from NO-DAL to WSH-PHI? Not sure if things will change but it might be worth a try:
http://www.wwnytv.com/about/contact-us Click on the third form that you see.
I may give this a try, thanks for the link, I honestly never thought of even trying this. You’re probably right but worth a shot.
Better yet, why don’t everyone who complains here which game is not on, get Sunday Ticket.
Either you guys are the biggest NFL TV nerds and/or very frugal and/or low income.
Exactly! I swear that no matter what six games CTV/Rogers choose each week people will still complain about half of them. If CTV picked the Eagles game people would complain that the Eagles are terrible and at least the Saints should put up a fight against Dallas.
As an Eagles fan, I’m not complaining one bit ;).
Well the Eagles haven’t done well all year so I can understand your logic. Better luck to them next season Josh. At least they are not a joke like the New York Jets!!!
The Eagles are a bigger joke than the Jets. They might have better players, but their coaching is in shambles.
Who would you like to see as the Eagles head coach in 2013? Do you think that for example they would go after someone like Sean Payton if he doesn’t get a contract extension with the Saints?
I do realize the Cowboys are still in it with the Skins and probably have a much larger following but personally I just think the Skins/Eagles will be a better game.
Four early games here in the Ottawa area are going to be shown on cable in the 1 pm timeslot. Including the NO-DAL game and CIN-PIT on the main TSN feed (pre Christmas bonus!), TEN-GB will be on WWJ (CBS Detroit) and I have the chance to watch my Vikings on Fox 2 Detroit (WJBK)!
In addition to the CLE-DEN & NYG-BAL games, the CHI-ARZ game will be on WJBK (Double pre Christmas bonus!) :)
To cap off the night, this week’s Sunday Night Football game: TRIPLE pre Christmas bonus!!! :)
Having 3 games on CTV plus the TSN game is good plus the Packers game on the Detroit channel for a bonus. Lucky you Nationscapital! A bit surprising CTV Toronto isn’t putting on the Bills considering they have been showing them all season long but a good decision not to show it. I agree with DJ with the Redskins @ Eagles it’s not a great game but it`s crunchtime for the Skins. The playoff bound Patriots @ Jaguars isn’t a great game but neither is Colts @ Chiefs.
For the afternoon games, Giants @ Ravens is great. The Browns @ Broncos, ugh. The only other game is Bears @ Cardinals and will also be on FOX Minneapolis. Do or die for the Bears and the Broncos are already in the playoffs.
As long as NE are in the playoff chase they will always be on in Atlantic Canada (and usually Montreal). They’re just too popular here. Same with the Seahawks in BC and Vikings in Manitoba.
I’m not too surprised the Bills aren’t on in Toronto. They (and Miami) are out of the playoff race. The only markets that are getting the game in the US are 10 Buffalo and Miami primary and secondary markets (and all except two of those have to get it by rule). No need to subject us to it in Canada, haha. Since the Bills are on the road and FOX has a doubleheader, the Cowboys game (who are reasonably popular as well) can be simulcast anyway.
Considering the Cardinals got beat 58-0 last time they played a good team, I’m not sure of the excitement in that game. They had lost 9 straight before last week. Cleveland may not be great, but they did manage to beat Pittsburgh and Cincinnati this year.
The Saturday game is the most least anticipating game this week. Too bad Sportsnet is showing the Cleveland Browns (5-9) @ Denver Broncos (11-3) this Sunday, I’d rather watch the Chicago Bears (8-6) @ Arizona Cardinals (5-9) instead. BTW Tennessee Titans @ Green Bay Packers will be on CBS Detroit
Yeah. Especially being the Saturday before Christmas I can’t imagine it will get great ratings.
OMG Dingo, don’t complain about not getting the game you would rather watch, you’ll accused of being on low-income. What a fuckin joke!!
I actually do not care if they are planning to show a throw away game on Sportsnet this week, cause I am planning to watch the New York Giants (8-6) @ Baltimore Ravens (9-5) during that time slot anyways. I am only making the suggestion to change games because the Cleveland Browns (5-9) @ Denver Broncos (11-3) does not involve teams that are still in the playoff picture, meanwhile the Chicago Bears (8-6) @ Arizona Cardinals (5-9) do. Just to point out, not everyone will get multiple late games this week, and the only game that is available is already being shown on Citytv.
I don’t care either, I assumed the entire point of posting the schedule as to what CTV and TSN2 were putting on their channels was to have debates and banter on which games viewers would rather see. I do have NFL Ticket for our TV’s as well as computers. I enjoy trying to predict what games will be where as well as judging what games are worth more as far as being on ctv or tsn. I guess I was wrong.
I post the schedule because Sportsnet’s and CTV’s schedule aren’t available in one place (as opposed to NBA, NHL etc. which have Canadian schedules on their websites). Everyone can have all the discussion they want. I have never not allowed a comment through on these posts. That includes yours and from people who disagree with you (like PK). I try to offer my opinion/insight on why some games were chosen over others.
But I guess if everyone already knows the schedule I just won’t bother posting it anymore. I don’t really have the time to waste doing it anyway.
Just wondering though, if you have Sunday Ticket why do you care if CTV shows the Redskins-Eagles game?
I only care because we (the family) will be at our in laws for our Christmas get together. And they don’t have wi-fi or I would just take my laptop. Also like I said earlier it is just fun hearing people’s differing opinions on what games they would like to see, kind of a fun discussion as long as it doesn’t get to someone saying all people do is complain or are on low or fixed income. That is a real insult to anybody in that situation.
Fair enough on the game. Don’t get the wrong impression, I like hearing different opinions as well. Some of them (not yours usually) just confuse me though.
I can kind of see where PK is coming from. He has a legitimate point that people complain about what CTV’s showing every week and a way to fix it is to get Sunday Ticket. He then said one reason people wouldn’t get it is if they are low income. I don’t think it was meant as an insult really. He offered a few others reasons as well.
Well if that’s the reason and it wasn’t an insult to people then I apologize, that’s just how it sounded to me. I am commenting on these types of post not for complaining but rather I just like hearing different opinions on what game they would rather watch, I kinda view the post as if I didn’t have the Ticket.
And PK wasn’t disagreeing” with me, he was insulting and condescending!
Unlucky me. WJBK has switched from showing my Vikings to the Saints @ Cowboys game. At least I can hear the game on The Team 1200 as they will be picking it up from Sports Radio USA. Unless someone at the station makes a mistake and picks up the Dial Global Radio Network Sunday Afternoon Doubleheader of NFL games LOL!
