Stephen A. Smith Believes The Onion

Many readers are likely familiar with Stephen A. Smith. He has a show on ESPN Radio and is also a contributer on ESPN First Take on TV. He gained fame back in the winter for his Tim Tebow rant after the Broncos signed Manning. Yesterday, satirical news site The Onion posted a story on Smith ranting to his 9 year old (fake) son about sex. Apparently Smith wasn’t familiar with The Onion. Here is how he reacted on Twitter. Note that these Tweets have since been deleted.

I thought I’d heard enough despicable lies about myself. Now there’s some article out that I have a 9-yr-old son and I’m going to have a conversation with him about sex. Mind you, I neither have a son or a 9-year-old. Some ppl are so despicable. No end! Sad what extent people will go to. Amazing how folks try to tear cats down, primarily due to perceived power of the spoken word. Damn shame, but too bad because I don’t intend on going nowhere. Really, really sad though.

This is right up there with Deadspin’s “Ann Romney’s Horse Hangs Out With Assholes” as the best internet/sports moment of 2012.
