TSN scored one of its highest rated NHL games of the season on Wednesday night as the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks wrote another chapter of their rivalry (this one featuring cheap shots and lots of post-whistle antics). An average of 775, 000 viewers tuned in on TSN (BBM 2+ AMA overnight data). This makes it the second highest rated Wednesday Night Hockey broadcast this season that did not feature the Toronto Maple Leafs. It is only behind a Canucks @ Sharks game from December (which had the World Juniors as a lead-in).
CBC would love to have a Canucks vs. Blackhawks playoff matchup. It seems unlikely that the two would meet in the first round of the playoffs; however, it would be a possible second round matchup if both advance.
