Sports on Canadian TV: Thursday, March 22, 2012

HOCKEY
NHL: Washington Capitals @ Philadelphia Flyers – 7 p.m. on RDS
NHL: Edmonton Oilers @ Tampa Bay Lightning – 7.30 p.m. on SN Oilers
NHL: Calgary Flames @ Minnesota Wild – 8 p.m. on SN West

World Women’s Championship: Canada vs. Scotland – 9 p.m. on TSN + RDS2

SOCCER
La Liga: Racing Santander vs. Sevilla – 2.55 p.m. on GolTV
Men’s Olympics Qualifying: El Salvador vs. Canada – 6.30 p.m. on SN East/Ontario + SN1
Men’s Olympics Qualifying: United States vs. Cuba – 9 p.m. on SN1

NCAA MARCH MADNESS – SWEET 16
CBS: Wisconsin vs. Syracuse – 7 p.m.
CBS: Cincinnati vs. Ohio State – 9.30 p.m.
TSN + RDS2: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
TSN2: 7 p.m. to Midnight

BASKETBALL
NBA: Boston Celtics @ Milwaukee Bucks – 8 p.m. on NBA TV

GOLF
PGA: Arnold Palmer Invitational (First Round) – 3 p.m. on Golf Channel

Presumably TSN will be showing Wisconsin/Syracus at 7.15 p.m. and TSN2 screening Louisville/Michigan State starting at 7.45 p.m. Then at 9 p.m., cue the flood of people complaining when TSN switches to curling with 4:56 left in the second with the #1 Syracus down by 11… which leaves TSN2 to court surf between the remaining games and hopefully mostly avoiding the CBS game.

  1. I can actually see TSN sticking with the Syracuse game to the end, especially if it is close. Then again, maybe I’m just hopeful. Considering it is on CBS, nobody should complain.

  2. Congrats on making 2 years by the way. Keep up the good work Josh as always.
