A New Australian Football Season Begins March 30

A new season of the Australian Football League begins on March 30. TSN2 returns as the Canadian broadcast of the league with one match from each of the 22 regular season rounds. TSN will also show additional matches from the Finals in the fall, including the Grand Final in Melbourne on September 29. Here is TSN’s press release with more information on their coverage.

Aussie Rules is back! The AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE takes centre stage on TSN2 beginning Friday, March 30 at 4:30 a.m. ET with powerhouse Hawthorn Hawks taking on Collingwood FC, last season’s AFL Grand Final runner-up (see complete broadcast schedule below). Throughout the season, TSN2 broadcasts one live AFL game each week including playoffs and the AFL Grand Final.

With the addition of expansion team GWS Giants, the 2012 AFL Premiership Season features a record 18 clubs vying for the coveted premiership title across 23 rounds of regular season play. The top eight teams advance to the four-week Finals Series, culminating with the AFL Grand Final on September 29.

New this year, TSN.ca will feature a weekly AFL highlight show on-demand that showcases all the hard-hitting action from around the league.

TSN2 currently has 22 games scheduled with more to be added in the final weeks of the regular season and playoffs.

Continue after the break for TSN’s broadcast schedule. All times are Eastern. Most matches come from Seven Network, including their prestigious Friday Night Footy broadcast. Some matches come from Fox Sports Australia though.
