Canada’s national women’s golf championship, the Canadian Women’s Open, will take play at Hillsdale Golf and Country Club in Mirabel, Quebec this coming weekend. Once again CBC is the primary rights holder as their deal with the LPGA continues. However, this year they have brought TSN into the fold to replace CBC Bold on Thursday and Friday. This is great news for Canadians because now more people will have access to the early round coverage.
CBC’s commentating team will consist of Ron MacLean providing play-by-play from the 18th tower, alongside analyst Gail Graham. Golf Channel’s Jane Crafter, Dawn-Coe Jones and Steve Armitage will be on-course reporters, walking with the top pairings. Elliotte Friedman will provide interviews from the 18th hole. Rod Black will anchor TSN’s coverage, with Bob Weekes doing interviews on the 18th hole.
Here is a quote from Julie Bristow, Executive Director, Studio and Unscripted Programming for CBC Television:
CBC’s commitment to supporting the CN Canadian Women’s Open runs deep, and it’s a source of pride for us to once again be able to bring the excitement of LPGA golf in Canada to fans across the country.
And a quote from Shawn Redmond, Vice President of Programming, TSN:
The CN Canadian Women’s Open is one of the marquee events on the Canadian golf calendar with an incredible field of world’s top players. We are looking forward to delivering the early round coverage to golf fans across the country.
