As for the Mariners, as I understand it they sell their own local rights in Canada (or at least in BC). For whatever reason (probably money) Sportsnet decided not to re-new their deal with the Mariners. It has nothing to do with the Jays.

It looks like the contract has expired and now Sportsnet can’t show any regional Mariners games. The two they have are FOX Saturday Baseball games.
