2011-12 NHL on TSN Schedule
The full 2011-12 NHL on TSN schedule was briefly published on TSN.ca for a period on Saturday afternoon. It has since been removed. I can only assume someone make a mistake. The only games listed were those featuring Canadian teams, but the breakdown was much the same as last year, so for now I’ll assume it is legit. Currently 5 Winnipeg Jets games are scheduled; however, I could see this jumping to 10 once TSN completes the deal to get regional Jets rights (apparently it still isn’t quite done). So, here you go, the 2011-12 NHL on TSN schedule. Whenever the press release comes, I’ll post it too.

Thanks to Canadian Sports Media Blog reader “Trent” for the tip that got me looking into this. It’s appreciated.
It will be interesting to see what the schedule looks like after the NBC Sports Net/VERSUS games that TSN(2) are announced. Last year, TSN had 124 games total between TSN and TSN2 when final schedules were announced. I wonder how many it will end up being this year and how many more US v US games we will see on TSN (rather than TSN2) due to possible NBA lockout. VERSUS will have 90 exclusive games this year up from 58 (I think last year).

Yeah that sounds right, 90 Versus games, 10 NBC games, total of 100 exclusive games IIRC.
I think we could see a ton of US-US matchups, especially if the NBA lockout drags on. It’s not like they have much else to air. I think there will be more Versus games on the main TSN this year too.
The most anticipated TV schedule release since the last TSN/CBC contracts kicked in for sure, between the Jets and the new Versus deal.

Ya, I’m interested in seeing what days additional Versus games air on (besides usual Monday and Tuesday of the past) or if we see more doubleheaders. I think a game Sunday nights would make some sense during the last half of the season (can cross promote during NBC NHL games). Now I imagine a few more CDN teams will make appearances on the VERSUS sked than the usual 1 to 3, since there are more spots to fill and Vancouver is a legit team. Won’t be tons, but a couple more may find spots.

Oh, Josh I have found out a part of the CBC HNIC schedule for 2011-2012 it’s only 4 games and in september. They were found on the CBC Sports Video Page under live streaming,
Sept 24 Toronto at Buffalo 7:00 PM
Sept 24 Anaheim at Vancouver 10:00 PM
Oct 1 Detroit at Toronto 7:00 PM
Oct 1 Edmonton at Vancouver 10:00 PM

Thanks. I think that’s two more than they showed last year. I don’t really care for the NHL preseason, especially with CFL and college football on, but nice to see more games on TV. Better that CBC’s movies from 10-15 years ago.

Looks like your prediction that TSN would get opening night didn’t come to a pass.

Yeah, I figured that out a few weeks ago. My counting on CBC was one off of last season for the Leafs.

Some of these game would have to start on TSN2, when you have the first scheduled game at 7:30 ET and the second game scheduled at 9:30 ET.

I’d put money on Jets first home preseason game vs Columbus Sept 20 to be on TSN.

I agree. They had a number of non-exclusive Wednesday broadcasts last year (usually TSN/CSN productions), so I agree that they will again this year too.

I’m moreso looking at 7:30 ET start times for games on Wednesday that normally wouldn’t be 7:30 and assuming those are VS related.
